An e-commerce company based in Berlin, Germany, Zalando offers fashion and lifestyle products to customers in 17 European markets. If you wonder what technology stack Zalando uses to run its business and if you are looking for new career opportunities, you need to stop by Zalando’s booth at Scala Days Lausanne.
In advance of the conference, Zalando’s Katie Richards shared a few highlights about Zalando and talked about how the company invests in talent and tech.
What is your most favorite Scala Days story or memory?
Last year in Berlin, we participated in Scala Days as well as hosted the Typelevel Summit and Scala Spree. It was so great to have so many touchpoints with the community and get to know some many people contributing to the Scala Community in our hometown!
Please tell us more about SwissBorg and what it does.
At Zalando, we build the starting point for fashion. We use data science, engineering and innovation to strengthen the relationship between our partner brands and customers by investing in our talent and tech. We become indispensable to our customers’ lives by creating deep connections and lifetime value through holistic convenience.
What inspired you to participate as a sponsor at the 10-year anniversary of Scala Days?
Zalando just turned 10 years old last year, and we’ve been a supporter of Scala Days for a few years now! It just seemed natural.
Who should stop at your booth at Scala Days and why?
We have a lot of open positions for Scala Engineers at Zalando in Berlin, Helsinki, Dortmund and Dublin! Come by to chat to us about jobs, or about what we do! We also are giving you the chance to support a charitable cause by participating in a challenge at our booth: we will donate 5 Euro to one of the three organizations that you can select at the booth!
