For 10 years, Scala Days brings together developers to share their experiences and new ideas around creating applications with Scala and related technologies, like Spark, Kafka, and Akka. At the conference, you can learn from the talks and speakers, connect with fellow developers, discover related technologies and even get hired as many companies who sponsor and support Scala Days are looking for talented people like you.
When attending Scala Days, do not miss an opportunity to connect with our sponsors and visit the expo floor. There, you can meet Sqooba and its Senior Software Engineer Pietari Kettunen who help companies innovate in the data-driven world.
What is your favorite Scala Days story or memory?
A very useful and descriptive implicit exercises and hands-on session by Tim Soethout. Getting a private demo of Akka monitoring stack by Lightbend engineers was also greatly appreciated.
What does Sqooba do?
At Sqooba, we empower you to be one. We believe that in a data-driven world, the key to future success is to build capabilities that enable organizations to innovate with data, disperse the insights, democratize the tools and unleash the creativity.
What would you like the Scala community to know about your company?
We are small but pack a big punch. We are engineering-driven, constantly looking for better ways to work in both technical and process-oriented manner.
What inspired you to participate as a sponsor at the 10-year anniversary of Scala Days?
It hits close to home. Scala has given us a lot and now we want to give back to the community and help it grow. A big part of our company studied at EPFL and we want to be part of this 10-year celebration of our favorite programming language.
Who should meet you at Scala Days and why?
People who are curious about the Scala community in Switzerland, and developers who are considering their options. Anyone who wants to hang out with a nice bunch of people.
